A little about me and what I do...
I started as a certified labor doula ten years ago and am currently a student midwife. I am a mother of 8 children, ages 12 and under. I am passionate about natural birth and I am eager to help other mothers achieve the birth experience that they desire. I believe birth can be an incredibly empowering event, even if it does not happen the way that we plan. By educating ourselves about the birthing process, we take the power into our own hands so that we can make the best choices about our babies and our births.
I am a La Leche League Leader and have breastfed my own 8 children, including tandem nursing two sets twins. I am happy to answer any questions about breastfeeding and can be reached via phone or email.
After the successful HBAC (homebirth after cesarean) of my twin daughters, I decided to become even more involved in ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network.) I was the ICAN chapter leader for Augusta, GA (click here) working to ensure that more women can be empowered to give birth the way they choose.
